Barrack Obama signaled his intent to do the will of Planned Parenthood in 2007, well before his election, when he praised the abortion giant for “all the work that you are doing for women all across the country and for families all across the country.”
Obama has stayed true to his love affair with the abortion giant. He has propped it up at every corner, subsidized it at unprecedented levels through Obamacare, and trampled religious freedom via a Planned Parenthood ploy to mandate that Catholic and other religious institutions and businesses provide free contraceptives and sterilization for employees, despite religious objections.
Following the announcement of the contraceptive mandate, the Church signaled its intent to stand firm against Obama’s virulent attack on religious freedom. Then something very strange and perplexing happened.
Cardinal Timothy Dolan, archbishop of New York and current president of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, personally invited President Barack Obama to be a keynote speaker at the Al Smith Memorial Foundation Dinner on October 18 in New York City. This dinner is a showcase for politicians, and will give Obama the opportunity for numerous photo-ops with the cardinal.
This is a dream scenario for Obama in an election year. The photos will no doubt be used to influence countless Catholics. Those unaware of the fact that President Obama has a stranglehold on the Church will be led to believe that Obama and the Catholic Church have an extremely cordial relationship. Others will be led to believe that, even though there may be problems, they are not really that serious.
In an attempt to stop this political jackpot for Obama before it happens, American Life League has announced a nationwide effort asking parishioners to call upon all the bishops of the United States to implore Cardinal Dolan to rescind the invitation to Obama or cancel the dinner.
You can help avert this travesty by printing the No Dinner for Obama appeal card from our website. Distribute the cards to family and friends, and ask everyone you know to write their local bishop’s name on the card and put the appeal card in the collection basket at Mass every Sunday from now to October 18. If we work together, we can make a difference.
The future of religious freedom in America is on the line. Will you be counted among those who stood up to protect our Church at her time of greatest need?
