Three Texas Planned Parenthood affiliates are merging their operations in order to stay afloat after Texas eliminated funding of Planned Parenthood through the Women’s Health Program. Planned Parenthood is also complaining of funding cuts on the federal level.

The three affiliates have been particularly deluged by pro-life advocates who Bring Jesus to Planned Parenthood through Mary and meet them at every corner to shed light on the abortion giant’s agenda, including American Life League associate groups STOPP of Dallas, Pro-Life Waco, Texoma Pro-Life Association, Texans Opposed to Planned Parenthood, Episcopal Diocese of Fort Worth, and the Gabriel Project of the Diocese of Fort Worth.

Advertising its struggle to operate a potentially unmanageable, sprawling geographical area under one affiliate structure in order to cut economic corners as “good news,” the newly formed Planned Parenthood of Greater Texas will merge Planned Parenthood of the Texas Capital Region (Austin), Planned Parenthood of North Texas (Dallas/Ft. Worth), and Planned Parenthood of Central Texas (formerly based in Waco, with operations taken over in recent months by the Austin affiliate). The merger will be effective September 1, 2012.

Showing the abortion chain’s ever-increasing dependence on private donations as government funding begins to wane, the press release said, “This strategy is especially important to ensure that Planned Parenthood continues to carefully and effectively steward private donations as government grants are eliminated…”

Kenneth Lambrecht, current CEO of Planned Parenthood of North Texas, will take over the helm of the new affiliate, attempting to manage 26 facilities across a 58,000 square mile area, including four abortion centers projected to kill 8,500 preborn babies annually.

The Texas merger is proof positive that divesting Planned Parenthood of government funding will have far-reaching effects on its ability to continue business as usual. We must continue to work to debunk and defund the nation’s largest abortion chain. Millions of innocent lives hang in the balance.
