Planned Parenthood heads back to school, pockets overflowing

As you prepare to send your children back to school, beware! Planned Parenthood is heading back to school, too—with its pockets overflowing with taxpayer money, poised to target your children with its failed “comprehensive” sex education.

The abortion giant is using a new CDC report—one that shows high rates of oral sex among young people—to push “comprehensive sex education” that is notorious for its promotion of oral sex.

The CDC report, Prevalence and Timing of Oral Sex, shows that about two-thirds of 15-24-year-olds have engaged in oral sex, with those ages 15-17 having a considerably higher incidence of oral sex without sexual intercourse than others. According to the report, almost half of boys and girls ages 15 to 19 have engaged in oral sex.

Planned Parenthood vice president of education Leslie Kantor said, in a recent New York Times article, that the important thing about the study is that it shows “that it’s probably equally likely for oral sex to happen before intercourse as after . . . so we need to provide sex education to young people that provides all the information they’ll need, from S.T.D.s to pregnancy prevention.”

The fact is that Planned Parenthood’s “comprehensive” sex education has been pushing oral sex as “safer sex” and as a method of birth control for years, and emphasizing “outercourse” as “sex play that keeps sperm out of the vagina to prevent pregnancy,” saying it is “safe, effective, and convenient.” Its website, linked above, lists oral sex under the different variations of outercourse, and suggests using “latex or plastic barriers that are non-lubricated or flavored for oral sex.”

The CDC report also notes that, while the percentage of teens who ever had sexual intercourse declined from 51 percent in 1988 to 43 percent in 2006-2010, and the rate of condom usage increased, the rate of sexually transmitted diseases has not decreased, particularly among the 15-19 year olds and young adults 20-24 years of age. So much for the Planned Parenthood “given” that increasing condom use cuts the rate of sexually transmitted diseases.

In June of this year, we reported that parents in Onalaska, Washington, were outraged when an elementary school principal instructed their children in how to perform oral and anal sex, using a state-approved sex education program that was orchestrated, developed, pushed, and policed by Planned Parenthood, NARAL Pro-Choice Washington, SIECUS, and a host of other agencies.

To make matters worse, Planned Parenthood’s Action Center beams the news that:

The new health care reform bill authorized $75 million [annually through 2014] in mandatory funding for teen pregnancy prevention. Most of this will go to states to support evidence-based, medically accurate, culturally appropriate sex education programs that address both abstinence and contraception for the prevention of pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections, including HIV/AIDS. This is on top of the $114.4 million for evidence-based, teen pregnancy prevention that President Obama and Congress are providing to community organizations and local governments this year.

The abortion giant then mourns the inclusion of funding for abstinence until marriage education, and pledges to continue “our work with our supporters, youth activists, and policymakers to put an end to this ineffective program.”

Planned Parenthood claims that it reaches 1.2 million people every year with its destructive sex education programs.
