Amid cries of government corruption and cover-up, all 107 criminal charges lodged against Planned Parenthood in Kansas—alleging such egregious crimes as the cover-up of child sexual abuse and illegal late-term abortions—have been dropped.

Forty-nine charges, including 23 felony counts, against the abortion giant were dismissed in November of 2011, when it appeared that the records needed to prove claims that Planned Parenthood manufactured evidence to cover up child sexual abuse had long ago been shredded under the watch of former Kansas governor Kathleen Sebelius.

The remaining counts alleged Planned Parenthood failed to determine viability before abortions and committed unlawful late-term abortions. On August 17, 2012, all charges still pending were dismissed at the request of current Johnson County district attorney Steve Howe. Howe and Kansas attorney general Derek Schmidt released a lengthy statement attempting to justify the dismissal.

Planned Parenthood joined Kathleen Sebelius in attempting to strip the law license of former Kansas attorney general, Phill Kline, who brought the charges against Planned Parenthood. Kline said in a statement, “The truth in Kansas is clear for those who want to see it—the destruction of documents, deceptive legal opinions, and acts of political cowardice cannot erase that truth. The truth also remains that no one has acted to ensure that the hundreds of child victims of sexual molestation taken to Kansas abortion clinics are safe. This remains the most shocking and sorrowful fact emerging from this story of corruption and cover-up.”

Kline’s statement begins:

Planned Parenthood was investigated for illegal late-term abortion and failure to report child rape as required by law. Evidence obtained revealed that during a time the abortion provider performed hundreds of abortions on children 13 years of age and younger Planned Parenthood only reported one case of child molestation. The evidence included witness statements and reports from former Planned Parenthood employees.

This portion of the case died due to obstruction by the Administration of former Kansas Governor Kathleen Sebelius and former Attorney General Morrison who was recruited by Ms. Sebelius to run for Attorney General. Ms. Sebelius is a political beneficiary of Planned Parenthood. . . .

The case filed against Planned Parenthood alleged that Planned Parenthood falsely reported the gestational age of the fetus in order to claim the fetus was not viable. The evidence demonstrating this conduct was present in every abortion record obtained. These allegations were supported by the expert report of Dr. T. Murphy Goodwin, one of our nation’s premiere neonatologists.

The District Attorney announced today that he was dismissing these charges because it was his opinion that the gestational age stated by Planned Parenthood arguably indicated the fetus was viable. His statement misses the point and indicated he doesn’t understand the case.

Now that the case has been closed, who will rise to speak for the young children who are sexually abused in the state of Kansas and elsewhere and then victimized again by abortions at Planned Parenthood facilities? Who will speak for the babies that can survive outside the womb that are illegally aborted in Kansas? Though the evidence has been swept under the table, shredded, thrown out with the trash, buried, and discounted, it is fully catalogued and stands as a testament to the ability of the abortion giant to do whatever it wishes in the current political environment and get away with it. It is time for all people of good will to vote for those who will defend life at every level of government. Planned Parenthood must not be allowed to continue to run roughshod, grinding up and spitting out our posterity.
