We will be profiling companies that sponsored and supported Oregon’s Adolescent Sexuality Conference in this and upcoming editions of the Wednesday STOPP Report.

Female Health Company sponsored the event, obviously to promote its female condoms, FC2, by making believers of agency workers so that they will in turn make believers—and customers—of the teens and women they target. Inside the carry bag that registrants were instructed to pick up was a bag containing one of the female condoms, along with a promotional card offering free supplies to providers who will participate in the online training.

“What we found here in the United States and around the world is training and education [are] key when you talk about distributing female condoms,” the online trainer proclaims. She instructs “providers” to think of them as sexy, safe and fun, rather than ugly, noisy, and gross, because how they think about the female condom will influence how their clients feel about the female condom. “Female condoms CAN be safe, they CAN be fun, they CAN be effective. And if you believe that, your clients will.” Enough said.

According to the Motley Fool, Female Health Company is among the 25 best companies in the nation. Why? It makes a lot of money, of course, hawking its ware through “massive aid organizations.”

“With fewer than 150 employees,” we learn, “the company brings in more than $200,000 in revenue per worker, attesting to the efficiency of its staff. Even with the assistance of massive aid organizations to help the company with distribution, the fact that such a small company is able to meet such a huge need attests to the dedication of company workers to get the job done.”

With Planned Parenthood’s help, the Female Health Company will continue to rake in record profits as the small company with a massive distribution network put in place by your tax dollars and mine.
