Planned Parenthood closing/moving Fayetteville, AR, abortion facility

The Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette reported this week that Planned Parenthood Great Plains will be closing its current Fayetteville (AR) abortion facility at the end of this month. Brandon Hill, chief executive officer of Planned Parenthood Great Plains, reportedly cited "increasing problems with our landlord." Although Planned Parenthood is claiming it was the one who decided against renewing the lease, local pro-lifers in Fayetteville tell STOPP that the landlord is happy to see them go. The current lease expires at the end of this month.

Hill was particularly upset about the presence of protestors in the immediate vicinity of the facility and the fact that a pregnancy resource center mobile van was allowed to park in a lot next to the one used by the Planned Parenthood clinic.

Hill told the newspaper: "Our staff is diligently working to find a new location for the health center in Northwest Arkansas so that we can restart providing services (including abortion) as quickly as possible."

In a tip-of-the-hat to effective pro-life efforts in Arkansas, Hill said: "We had previously hoped to restart providing services in a new location with little or no disruption in access to patients.” However, he said, the right spot has been difficult to find, "in part because some landlords are unwilling to rent to Planned Parenthood in light of the ongoing high-profile disputes over abortion."

Planned Parenthood is determined to open a new killing center in Northwest Arkansas, but for now the Fayetteville clinic has already stopped doing abortions. Clearly, numerous lives will be saved as Planned Parenthood Great Plains searches for a new site.

Congratulations to NWA Respect Life, Fayetteville 40 Days for Life, the Loving Choices Pregnancy Center, and all the dedicated pro-lifers in the Fayetteville, Arkansas, area, who have been fighting this Planned Parenthood killing center for seven years! Your tenacity is being rewarded.
