STOPP just released a significant report, tracking salary information for the top executives of Planned Parenthood. It shows that the so-called nonprofit organization pays a total of $12.8 million to the chief executive officers of its 81 affiliates and another $2.2 million to the top eight staffers at its New York headquarters.

The average salary of a CEO at a Planned Parenthood affiliate is $158,275—that would rank them in the top six percent of all household incomes in the United States. Thirty of PP’s top executives are pulling down salaries in excess of $200,000—putting them in the top 2.67 percent of household income. Eighteen of the executives rank in the top 1.5 percent of household incomes with incomes in excess of $250,000 a year. The top eight people at Planned Parenthood’s New York headquarters make an average of $269,541 a year.

PPFA head Cecile Richards led the pack with a salary of $353,819. CEOs in Dallas, Texas; San Jose, California; and Chicago, Illinois also drew salaries in excess of $300,000.

Of the 81 affiliate’s CEOs, only 64 percent are women, and a meager 12 percent have a health background. Eleven percent have a political background and two percent have a background in education. The remaining 75 percent have backgrounds in management.

While Planned Parenthood continues to paint itself as a champion of the poor, its top executives fluff their beds with obscene amounts of taxpayer money.

In 2011, Planned Parenthood lost its funding in New Hampshire partly because of the high salary paid to the CEO of Planned Parenthood of Northern New England.

This report offers even more proof that it is time to defund the abortion giant. Use these statistics widely when fighting Planned Parenthood funding in your community. For more information on defunding Planned Parenthood, visit our website.

The report comes on the heels of the release of our analysis of PPFA’s 2010 annual report, which provides even more ammunition to use in the fight against Planned Parenthood.
