Planned Parenthood prominent in defeat of Mississippi personhood amendment; celebrating now

Mississippi’s recent personhood amendment, which was poised to be the first in the nation to pass, failed. Why? In part, because many pro-life advocates were duped into believing that a constitutional amendment declaring the humanity of the pre-born would somehow make millions of tiny, innocent children more vulnerable to being killed by abortion.

Planned Parenthood’s social engineering machine was cranked full throttle to defeat the amendment, spewing lies and sowing doubt among the populace that were, in the end, extremely efficacious.

The abortion giant enlisted the aid of all of its allies in defeating the amendment, with rabidly radical feminist publications like Jezebel and the ever-immoral but more socially acceptable Cosmopolitan chiming in against constitutional protection for the preborn.

Jezebel featured pictures of women in pink “I Stand with Planned Parenthood” T-shirts holding “Stop the War on Women” signs, and labeled the amendment “The Most Ill Thought Out Piece of Terrible Legislation of All Time, 2011 Entrant,” in its graphically disgusting article. It boggles the mind how attempts to stop the wholesale slaughter of millions of innocent babies could be labeled by so-called “feminists” as a “war on women.” These radicals are the true architects of the war on women.

Cosmopolitan helped PP President, Cecile Richards, grow her Pinocchio nose, saying that the amendment could even prevent pregnant women from getting some types of cancer treatments and added, “[It] is such an extreme government intrusion into the private lives of women and families.” Cosmo encouraged Mississippians to vote against the amendment and to use social media to spread the word.

Mississippians for Healthy Families, the up-front opposition against the amendment, whose creation was spearheaded by Planned Parenthood Southeast, and its coalitions/organizations opposing the amendment, ran a plethora of ads designed to plant confusion in the hearts and minds of voters, making such outrageous claims as, if the amendment passed, a woman with an ectopic pregnancy would not be allowed to receive life-saving medical attention. One of the ads featured a nurse saying, “You can be pro-life and still vote no.” Imagine, Planned Parenthood and its cohorts proclaiming, undercover of course, that you can be pro-life and vote against constitutional protection for the lives of the pre-born!

In the wake of the amendment’s defeat, Planned Parenthood placed a celebratory statement on its website. “The defeat of the so-called ‘personhood’ amendment in Mississippi is a major victory for women’s health.”

The abortion giant sums up its smear campaign against the amendment by saying, “Mississippi voters rejected the so-called ‘personhood’ amendment because they understood it is government gone too far, and would have allowed government to have control over personal decisions that should be left up to a woman, her family, her doctor and her faith, including keeping a woman with a life-threatening pregnancy from getting the care she needs and criminalizing everything from abortion to common forms of birth control such as the pill and the IUD.

“We congratulate the Mississippians for Healthy Families Coalition, which ran an amazing campaign to educate voters about the dangerous impact of the amendment,” the PP statement continues.

Planned Parenthood’s full-tilt assault against this amendment and other state human rights initiatives demonstrates how threatened it is by the possibility of a constitutional declaration of the word “person.”

The abortion giant has its tentacles on the pulse of the legislative and judicial processes, from the grassroots level all the way to the Supreme Court. If recognizing the human rights of preborn children did not pose a real threat to its business, it would not expend the amount of energy and funds it does in fighting these amendments. If pursuing these human rights would somehow bolster Roe v. Wade and hurt chances of overturning it, do you not think Planned Parenthood would assist in its passage? At the very least it would turn its grotesque head and allow the truth to prevail and the amendment to pass, without pulling out all the stops to sow confusion and to defeat the amendments.

Wake up, America. The time to stop the killing is now. It is never the wrong time to do the right thing. Legal abortion hinges on the lack of the recognition of civil rights for the preborn, and that fact was articulated in the Roe v. Wade decision. It was the Roe author, Justice Blackmun, who concluded: "(If the) suggestion of personhood [of the preborn] is established, the [abortion rights] case, of course, collapses, for the fetus' right to life is then guaranteed specifically by the [14th] Amendment."

Thus, the personhood of the preborn child is the single point on which the entire debate turns.

Does that threaten Planned Parenthood? Its actions and words in fighting the Mississippi personhood amendment broadcast its answer loud and clear! We must fight for the human and civil rights of preborn children, now!

Planned Parenthood's 'Bedside' advice designed to entice teens into sexual activity

Having been there before, I can tell you that browsing Planned Parenthood’s website is something that I always dread.

I can’t help but wonder how many parents have ever gone to the Planned Parenthood website to see what the evil organization is broadcasting into their homes, in its never-ending quest to conscript our children into promiscuous, immoral, perverse lifestyles.

Today I received a Google alert about “Bedsider,” and it brought me to the Planned Parenthood web presence for teens, where I saw a picture of a girl on a bed poised to leap onto a boy who is on the floor with his legs draped over the bed. It bears the heading “You didn’t give up on sex; Don’t give up on birth control either.”

Remember, this is designed for teens. Clicking the picture, the curious teen ends up on a website called Bedsider, and the first thing to be seen there is a pop-up that says, “Thank you for making Bedsider more sexy. Seriously. We love you for visiting our website. We'll love you even more if you tell us what you think.”

Having dispensed with the pop-up, the teen—or younger person—sees a page containing all sorts of birth control, including a menu that lists “most effective,” “party-ready” (subtitled “Some methods mix better with booze. As in, you don’t have to think in the heat of the moment.”), “easy to hide” (“Some women have to keep their birth control a secret.”), and [sarcasm] that abstinence-encouraging phrase “do me now” (“These methods are ideal for spontaneous, hot sex. Anywhere. Any time.”).

The Bedsider website is a part of The National Campaign to Prevent Teen and Unplanned Pregnancy. Seriously. Prominent on its website is a video that follows a day in the life of a man wearing a condom, ostensibly in plain view, but covered in the video by a glowing blur or an opaque disc. The video ends with the admonition: “You should be proud to wear a condom. But save it for more intimate situations.”

Following Planned Parenthood’s playbook, the website of the so-called “National Campaign to Prevent Teen and Unplanned Pregnancy” includes a section entitled “Religion.” It is “designed to provide visitors with, or direct them to, materials on how teen and unplanned pregnancy prevention can be addressed in faith settings. It includes links to sermons, counseling resources, proclamations and mission statements, and other resources for the faith community.” Seriously.

Oh, and in the sidebar of that “religious” page, one sees a lead-in to a “public service announcement” entitled “The Foreplay Flop,” where, once again, we see the girl on a bed looking down at a guy on the floor who has his legs up in the air and his pants pulled down below his knees. Seriously.

With Planned Parenthood and its cohorts working around the clock on so many levels to steal the minds, hearts, and souls of our children, we must redouble our efforts to stop Planned Parenthood in its tracks. Our website, www.stopp.org, contains a wealth of information about the abortion giant and how to keep it away from our children. Bringing Jesus to Planned Parenthood through Mary: Archbishop Nienstedt in St. Paul, Minnesota

Recent issues of The Wednesday STOPP Report have brought news of priests and bishops bringing Jesus to Planned Parenthood through Mary.

When the Church comes visibly to Planned Parenthood, there are groans of anguish inside the facility as consciences are pricked and demons take flight. Not only that, but the faithful are energized to continue the fight. St. Paul, Minnesota, is a case in point.

The Catholic Spirit reports that on Good Friday, 2011, Archbishop John Nienstedt led the opening prayer at the vigil outside Planed Parenthood in St. Paul, assisted by several priests of the archdiocese as well as pastors of other faiths. According to news reports, several hundred people were in attendance.

Planned Parenthood committed 4,033 abortions in 2010 alone in the facility, which is scheduled to be closed when it opens its new 46,000 square foot mega-center off University Avenue in December. Pro-Life Action Ministries has compiled a list of contractors who have worked on the construction of the new facility, and is asking the faithful to contact them and ask them to stop working for Planned Parenthood. The list can be downloaded here.

The faithful are bringing Jesus to Planned Parenthood’s construction site through Mary, as well. It is reported on catholichotdish.com that “Kalley King Yanta (former Channel 5 anchor) helped Brian Gibson organize the prayer session in front of the PP construction site. She led us in prayer with: ‘Blessed Mother, shut this place down!’”

May that prayer reverberate throughout the nation as the faithful rise up to Bring Jesus to Planned Parenthood through Mary. If you haven’t joined our campaign, please visit our website today at www.stopp.org/mary. Together, under Our Lady’s mantle, we will bring an end to Planned Parenthood’s reign of terror.

Report from the field: Waco, Fort Worth Planned Parenthoods 'tottering'

Dr. John Pisciotta, head of Pro-Life Waco, sends great news:

I have good news!

Planned Parenthood has inflicted surgical abortions here in Waco on a one-day-a-week basis since 1994. The good news is that for the fifth Wednesday in a row, surgical abortions were not committed at the Waco abortion facility at 1927 Columbus Ave. Waco has always had a “circuit rider” abortionist. Our current abortionist resides in Austin. Apparently, the abortion business in Waco is not sufficiently profitable for him to spend four hours driving to kill unborn babies in Waco.

The situation in Waco may be quite similar to what is also happening in Fort Worth. I recently received an e-mail with the news that the one-day-a-week Planned Parenthood surgical abortion business in Fort Worth is closed at least temporarily. This is because of the retirement of longtime abortionist Neal Adam Poch. You can read the uplifting e-mail message here.

As in Waco, the abortionist did not find the business in Fort Worth sufficiently lucrative for a round trip from Tyler, Texas. In addition to local activism, the Texas abortion law, which requires ultrasound counseling 24 hours in advance of abortion, is making abortion much more costly. With the new law in effect since October 1, an abortionist must interact with the mother in counseling as well as killing. Beyond the travel time and expense, abortionists are not noted for their strong desire to counsel pregnant moms. They prefer to leave abortion marketing to others.

So, let us be encouraged and intensify the battle for the lives of the preborn and the lives and souls of those participating in abortion. Smaller abortion facilities in Texas are on the ropes. Let’s work for a knockout for the Gospel of Life.

I hope you are not offended by my bellicose words. The Bible tells us there is a time for serenity in love of neighbor. Our Lord also calls his followers to be open and bold in defense of the innocent, weak, and the deceived. To shirk and be silent would make us lukewarm.

Please forward to share the good news with your friends.

The fruit of on-site prayer: Planned Parenthood affiliate in Missouri closes Jefferson City facility

After nine years of on-site prayer for its closure, a Planned Parenthood facility that has been in operation since 1975 will shut its doors for good on November 30. Planned Parenthood of Kansas and Mid-Missouri says it will consolidate the Jefferson City facility with its Columbia abortion center—a reflection of the abortion giant’s business model that includes closing facilities that are not profitable in order to focus resources on its abortion facilities.

According to the Fulton Sun, pro-lifers on the sidewalk concluded their 9 years of petition with 8 weeks of prayer in thanksgiving for the closure. It is easy to be tricked into believing that our prayers are accomplishing nothing, but in the end, perseverance is the answer. Jefferson City is a beautiful example of the power of unceasing, on-site prayer.

Another Missouri Planned Parenthood affiliate, Tri-Rivers Planned Parenthood, disaffiliated from Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) and changed its name to Tri-Rivers Family Planning, Inc. (TRFP) effective September 30. It had been in business since 1971. Abandoning the controversial Planned Parenthood name, it follows in the footsteps of two Texas Planned Parenthood affiliates—Amarillo and Corpus Christi.

Congratulations to the good people of Missouri who are exposing Planned Parenthood at every turn and never shrinking from their duty to pray and provide public witness to the evil that is Planned Parenthood. May God continue to bless the state with a landslide of Planned Parenthood closures. Mary, Mother of God, please stop Planned Parenthood!
