Parents: Sex ed raped the minds of our children

Parents could tell something was wrong with the children when they came home from school. They were quiet and withdrawn, embarrassed, and didn’t want to talk about what had happened. When Curtis and Jean Pannkuk began questioning their young daughter, they discovered that her elementary school principal had instructed her that day in how to perform oral and anal sex. The traumatizing instruction was delivered as a part of state approved sex education that was orchestrated, developed, pushed, and policed by Planned Parenthood, NARAL Pro-Choice Washington, SIECUS, and a host of other agencies.

Though parents in the small town of Onalaska, Washington, are furious that their children have been violated and traumatized by the highly inappropriate sex instruction, the superintendent defended the principal’s delivery of graphic instruction in aberrant sex to the elementary school students, telling local media, “I think the principal handled it appropriately at the time; she only gave factual information, no demonstrations.” In another interview, he indicated that she “stuck to the curriculum.”

Curtis Pannkuk says if that’s the case, the curriculum needs to change. In an interview with Fox Radio News, Pannkuk said, “One of the other parents said it well—they raped the minds of the ten-year-old, eleven-year-old kids.”

Planned Parenthood’s influence in state-approved and state-mandated sexuality education is taking a ghastly toll on children. Onalaska parent James Gilliland expressed anger and dismay after his daughter’s innocence was stripped from her by the oral sex instruction. His wife, Kadra, said, “I was just shocked because I trusted my little country school. I trusted my school—that’s the bottom line, and they crossed the line.”

And that is exactly what Planned Parenthood relies upon when pushing its agenda through coalitions on the national, state, and district levels. Planned Parenthood operatives know that parents are busy with their lives and often trust their schools to do the right thing for their children. That creates the perfect opportunity for Planned Parenthood to enter the schools while parents are not paying attention, with all the wrong things for children.

Everyone is focused on Planned Parenthood and the evil it does through abortion. That evil is the ultimate child abuse and certainly renders the abortion giant unworthy of one penny of government funding. But even if Planned Parenthood never committed another abortion, the impact of its sex indoctrination programs on children, teens, and young adults is reason enough to strip it of government funding and run it out of the nation.

Read Planned Parenthood is behind King County schools’ sex education for more information on Planned Parenthood’s intricate, not-so-well-hidden puppet-mastery of the HIV and sexuality education program in place in the King County, Washington, school that led to the forcible invasion of these children’s right to sexual innocence.

Planned Parenthood is behind King County schools’ sex education

The curriculum in use in the King County, Washington, school where children in fifth grade were recently taught how to have oral and anal sex, is the Family Life and Sexual Health (F.L.A.S.H.) state-approved curriculum. Planned Parenthood is particularly enamored with this curriculum, highly recommending it on its website, alongside lesson plans from the SIECUS Sex Ed Library. (Dr. Mary Calderone, a former medical director at Planned Parenthood, was the first director of SIECUS.)

The state of Washington OSPI (Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction)—the agency that approves sex education programs for use in schools—recommends the Rutger’s-based Answer in its flyer as the resource for teacher training and staff development for state mandated HIV and state approved sexual health education. Answer is also recommended on the Virginia League for Planned Parenthood website, which goes on to say, “Teachers can earn professional credits from the ETR Associates Resource Center for Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention (ReCAPP).” (ETR Associates began its corporate life as the Education Department of the Santa Cruz Chapter of Planned Parenthood.)

Answer promotes a Teen-to-Teen Sexuality Education Initiative called Sex, Etc. It offers the usual Planned Parenthood fare, including links to Planned Parenthood websites, advice on how to skirt parents, immoral sexual advice, abortion rights information, gay rights information, and instructions on how to have gay sex. Its website features a video claiming that when it comes to sex, “parents obviously don’t have the answers, and teenagers still need them. That’s where honest sex ed comes in.”

And who do you think might be training the teachers who are teaching the F.L.A.S.H. curriculum? A visit to Answer’s TISHE 2.0 (In-Service Training) Core Staff 2012 page features Mark Huffman, who just happens to be a former vice president for education and training at Planned Parenthood of Middle and East Tennessee. Also on staff is another former PP employee, Kurt Conklin, who is now the director of programs at SIECUS.

Additionally on staff is Nora Gelperin, recognized for her experience in training teachers nationwide in 2010. She received the Mary Lee Tatum Award from, that’s right, the Association of Planned Parenthood Leaders in Education. You might say she wrote the Answer book, in that “she developed Answer’s three dynamic online workshops ‘Sexuality ABCs (Abstinence, Birth Control and Condoms),’ ‘STD Basics’ and most recently ‘LGBTQ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Questioning) Issues in School.’”

Current Planned Parenthood employee Maureen Kelly rounds out the list of presenters. She is VP for programming and communications with Planned Parenthood of the Southern Finger Lakes. She also served for nine years on the SIECUS board of directors. “Kelly is the proud founder of Planned Parenthood’s Out for Health: LGBT Health & Wellness program.” Only two out of the six TISHE presenters do not list a current or past association with Planned Parenthood.

The TISHE 2.0 in-service teacher-training program is co-sponsored by SIECUS and Answer.

Planned Parenthood goes to great lengths to hide from parents its dominant position in school sex ed programming, but a few hours on the Internet reveals an extremely intricately woven web of deceit composed of organizations that spring from or are otherwise closely connected to Planned Parenthood. Those organizations and individuals are actually working with Planned Parenthood to call the shots when it comes to school-based sex education.

Likening oral sex to lollipops is nothing new for Planned Parenthood

Appendix C, page 2 of the F.L.A.S.H. curriculum in use in King County, Washington schools says: “Every year all students in grades 5-12 must receive HIV education. Districts decide whether to provide additional sexual health education.” It was as a part of that state mandated HIV instruction that the fifth-grade children in Onalaska were taught how to have oral and anal sex, with one of the children later reporting to parents that oral sex is “basically like a lollipop.” (See Planned Parenthood’s promotion of penis lollipops in this American Life League video report.)

The superintendent of schools in King County, Washington, defended the teaching of aberrant sex by saying the elementary principal who did the teaching “stuck to the [F.L.A.S.H.] curriculum.” The curriculum lesson plans for Grades 4, 5, and 6 can be accessed here. They appear to be totally in sync with Planned Parenthood’s agenda, stirring up gender confusion, portraying homosexuality as normal, and including graphic, detailed sexual information in the teachers’ glossary for children in grades 4 through 6.

The HIV education requirement and the other legal requirements of “sexual health education” in Washington state are based on the AIDS Omnibus Act of 1988, the OSPI/DOH Guidelines of 2005, and the Healthy Youth Act of 2007. The Healthy Youth Act was orchestrated by the Healthy Youth Alliance (HYA). Listed among the alliance membership in a January 2007 report funded by the ACLU were six Planned Parenthood affiliates, NARAL Pro-Choice Washington, and 42 other agencies. Today, the HYA website lists only 13 members, including NARAL Pro-Choice Washington, the three remaining Planned Parenthood affiliates in Washington, NOW, the Safe Schools Coalition, and GLSEN (Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network). The Healthy Youth Alliance works today to police and attempt to force compliance of school districts in Washington with the Healthy Youth Act.

The F.L.A.S.H. curriculum used in King County, Washington, points out in Appendix C, page 3, the shocking fact that in Washington state, [f]or most care (e.g., sore throat), minors cannot consent for themselves, unless they are married to a person over age 18. However, a minor may consent to birth control or abortion at any age without parental consent. It lists sexually transmitted disease testing, immunization, prenatal care, adoption, outpatient alcohol and drug treatment, and mental health treatment as areas in which the minor may also be emancipated from parental consent.

The page on minors’ rights contains a highlighted, strict, chilling warning to school staff:

NOTE: When discussing with a student any kind of health care for which the student can legally consent, please be very careful about protecting that student’s privacy. That means not sharing what is said with other students, or students’ family members or writing it in the student’s permanent record. Disclosing a student’s health information even to other teachers or school employees is a violation of privacy and possibly illegal.

That warning to school staff to carefully hide information about their children from parents comes directly from Guttmacher Institute documents, another organization that springs from Planned Parenthood.

The lesson from the rural school in King County, Washington, is a lesson for all parents: Do not trust the school to educate your children without the interference of Planned Parenthood. Planned Parenthood never stops trying to get its immoral sex education into schools, community organizations, and even churches. It does, however, work diligently to hide its involvement in an effort to deflect problematic parents who know what Planned Parenthood stands for and who will work to keep the evil organization away from their children.

Planned Parenthood is as transparent as a barrel of oil. Hiding in that black Planned Parenthood gunk is moral ruin, death, and destruction for our children. Visit your local school today and insist on seeing the HIV/AIDs curriculum and all sex education materials that will be used with your children in any class. Read Jim Sedlak’s book Parent Power!! free of charge here, and get to work today.

It is time to rally parents and community officials against the sex business that is Planned Parenthood. Anything less is a facilitation of child abuse.

Bringing Jesus to Planned Parenthood through Mary: Fond du Lac, Wisconsin

Pro-Life Wisconsin Fond du Lac County members gathered outside Planned Parenthood on June 2 to pray for an end to the contraceptive mentality in the U.S., all the while reaffirming its commitment to Bring Jesus to Planned Parenthood through Mary. Peggy Hamill, state director, joined the group.

Pro-Life Wisconsin Fond du Lac County prays in front of Planned Parenthood, 333 N. Peters Ave., Fond du Lac, on the second Saturday of the month from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. During 40 Days for Life they Bring Jesus to Planned Parenthood through Mary on Tuesdays, 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., and Thursdays, 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. A pro-life rosary is also prayed at 8:30 a.m. before the 9 a.m. Mass each Saturday at St. Mary’s Church, Marquette St. at E. Merrill Ave., Fond du Lac.

Kudos to Pro-Life Wisconsin Fond du Lac County for its perseverance in Bringing Jesus to Planned Parenthood through Mary.

Victory: Planned Parenthood closes two more Iowa facilities

Iowa Right to Life reports that Planned Parenthood of the Heartland will close two additional Iowa facilities on July 19, 2012—the Newton clinic and the Family Practice Center in Des Moines. The closures are in keeping with Planned Parenthood’s business plan to consolidate facilities in order to cut operating costs, as it increases it profit margin by focusing on its abortion business.

The abortion giant said in a press release that it will consolidate the Newton center into the Ankeny office. The Family Practice Center will be moved into the Planned Parenthood surgical abortion center in Des Moines.

“Their release stated that ‘this consolidation will help serve patients’ and would be ‘affordable and convenient’ to their clients. It does not make any sense to say that they will better serve their clients by telling those in Newton that they will have to drive 35 miles, at a minimum, to enter the Ankeny abortion center,” Jenifer Bowen, executive director of Iowa Right to Life, said in the press release.

The closures come on the heels of Planned Parenthood of the Heartland’s shuttering of three facilities March 1. Telemed abortion centers in Storm Lake and Knoxville were shut down and merged with other facilities. The Omaha Southwest abortion center was closed and merged with the Omaha Northwest abortion facility.

Eighteen Planned Parenthood facilities remain in Iowa. Eleven of those are abortion facilities. The abortion giant has been committing telemed abortions in Iowa since 2008, increasing its profit margin by having an abortionist remotely dispense abortion pills, then sending the woman home to suffer through days of contractions and profuse bleeding to deliver her dead baby at home, often totally alone.

STOPP representatives have been on the ground recently in Iowa and Nebraska, encouraging, strategizing, and helping form coalitions of pro-life groups who are focused specifically on shutting down Planned Parenthood of the Heartland. Kudos to all the pro-life organizations and individuals who continue to focus and fight hard to stop Planned Parenthood of the Heartland’s planned expansion.
